Seadrill’s Asset Lifecycle Management (ALCM) is an industry-leading maintenance strategy that optimizes offshore drilling equipment performance and reliability. The Technical Services reliability team deploys an advanced condition-based monitoring (CBM) sensing system on the West Neptune drillship. The sensor installation on the main well traveling block’s outer sheaves is crucial for the rig’s hoisting system in drilling operations.
The West Neptune’s main well crown block sheave is complete with the driller’s side sheave sensor visible. Seadrill can monitor vibration and RPM of the sheaves, assessing their condition and remaining life for continuous, disruption-free operations.
